Darcy under the Orchid Leaves

It is said that cats are perverse, and if I am painting an orchid he will put himself in the picture. In this case I abandoned painting the orchid and concentrated on a small study of him peering through its leaves – for the first time I realised how green his eyes can be, and he seem uncertain, less self contained, a rare thing.
