Starlings at Mudeford

The starlings became almost exotic with their blue black plumage shining in the sun. The ropes coiled round cathedrals of rubbish, faded plastic, bits of netting. In the spirit of recycling I painted the scene with oils on a stray oak door that belonged to my grandmothers hall cupboard, it’s construction providing a ready made frame. The result is that one has a sense of peering through a window at this surprising world of ornithological activity…
