Lavender and Wildflower Fields at Selborne

Usually these lavender fields are various shades of purple in fairly regimented rows. This year the planting had included wild flowers which added a wonderful anarchy of colour to the underlying structure of the field. I shared this day with a friend who was very ill but wanted to paint. I found the colours completely absorbing, and I am happy to remember her there because she was enchanted with it all.
