Quince Tree in a Winchester garden

A dear friend who I have painted with for many years invited the class to paint in his wonderful garden in Winchester. We were spoilt for choice, but in his little orchard was the most beautiful quince, it’s golden fruit peppering the grass, the brick and flint gables of the surrounding houses peering over the garden wall, punctuated by its dark red buttresses. It was a happy, gentle day.
