River Itchen at Telford, downstream

This is a painting of the River Itchen, Downstream, – and was painted from the same bridge in Twyford , and at the same time, as the larger painting which I did, looking Upstream. I painted this in the early evening of each day and this meant that the colours seemed to quieten and suffuse with each other, the light was even and gentle, and I became more aware of the quiet rhythm of the water.
