The Edge of the Wood

This is a large painting, worked on in my studio from a collection of other plein air paintings of the same subject. Rather than just be captivated by the beautiful bluebells in the wood, I wanted to concentrate on the mystery of the image and the incongruity of finding an abandoned boat amongst them. Who put it there I wonder? There must be a story there….
