Blue Jug and Autumn Flowers

I got out my lovely old glass jug to arrange my armful of gatherings of foliage and the odd late bloom from the garden. When I had laid all out it on a pink striped tablecloth on the kitchen table I was struck by the jazzy riot of colour and shapes I was seeing through the empty blue glass – I decided that was what I wanted to paint….
