Chinese Foxgloves in the Garden with a Plate of Cherries

I painted two paintings of these cherries with foxgloves concurrently. This is the smaller one, and in it I tried to distil the sparkling pile of cherries and the fragility of the foxglove heads dancing above them in the sun with a lightness of touch and not being too prescriptive with the detail.

This painting was featured at the Grange Festival Exhibition and is currently being shown at the the Sou-Sou-West Gallery, Bridport.
