Nasturtiums

My first painting of nasturtiums in my blue Victorian vase, in which I explored the movement within the plant, the tangled tendrils of its bright green stems, the soft undersides of the flowers under the flat discs of its cabbagey leaves. The flowers varied in colour and brightness, the glass that held them had the purlescent quality of an opal.
