Peonies at the Kitchen Window

Having arranged these striking peonies inn my biggest vase, I was stuck by the physical and visual monumentality of their presence. The light came flooding in from two directions and made a mirror of the granite work surface. Through the window their were large coils of the Viridian plastic hose, on the surface there was the artificial blue of squeezy bottle with its bright red lid…I decided to paint the flowers exactly where they stood.
