Pomegranates and Nasturtiums

The combination of pomegranates and nasturtiums has always pleased me, perhaps because each serves a happy contrast to the other – the sinewy shapes of the nasturtium stems can explore the perimeters of a canvas, whilst the flat discs of its circular leaves contrast with the solid spherical presence of the pomegranates, with a witty similarity to the nasturtium leaves when one is cut in half. ..though primarily it is probably an excuse to use an exciting palette of reds and oranges!
