Sardines in a Limoges Bowl

I chose to put these sparkly sardines into the Limoges bowl because I had noticed the the colours around their heads flashed almost gold in the light, and the bowl had small patches of bright gilt in its pattern. Also, the shape of the bowl allowed space for the fish, and suggested a hint of movement in the way they lay in it. The parallel folds of the cloth underneath also hinted at the slow moment of an incoming tide.
